The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to publicize the upcoming bout.
Former twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I will damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to really want to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
Despite these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK opponent Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and stated he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for 2026.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.
Size Disparity
As both boxers met for the customary face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually happening.
